Up to three extension modules with 2m length each can be put on
top of the two possible basic modules of 1m or 2m length. Several
Tower-Sens detectors may also be arranged as multi-detector sys-
tem and can then cover a measurement ranges up to 60m.
The Tower-Sens is delivered in parts to the construction site. On
site, the basic module and the individual extension modules have
to be assembled, as described in the following section.
The installation site has to be prepared such that the joints of the
modules will not be affected by dirt or humidity.
Detector failure due to false operation
The detector may be supplied with power only after the installation
has been completed.
If the detector is exposed to daylight (because the mechanics is not
completely closed) and if the power supply is turned on, this will
inevitably lead to a failure of the photomultiplier and thus of the
entire detector.
