Install the steering position sensor with two
screws. Tighten the screws to a torque of 35 to 60
In.lbs. (4 to 6.7 N·m).
Install the steering arm on the steering shaft.
Refer to the next section.
Steering Arm Installation
Install the steering arm on the steering shaft.
Make sure to align the marks previously made on
the splined steering shaft and steering arm.
If installing a new service replacement part, align
the mounting surface of the steering arm with the
mounting surface of the lower bracket.
After the steering arm is in place, turn the steering
arm fully to port and fully to starboard.
IMPORTANT: The steering arm MUST turn an
equal amount in both directions. Remove and
re-align the steering arm if turn radius is not equal.
