DescriptionSetting
This setting correlates to the MAC Address, Identifier,
and Gateway MAC Address fields that display on the
Phone page in the Cisco Business Edition 3000
Administrative Interface.
For most phones, for example, the Cisco Unified IP
Phone 6961, enter SEP followed by the MAC address
for the phone; for example, SEP123456789012. (Do
not include a space or special characters in the name.)
You can find the MAC address on the back of your
phone hardware.
For some phones, such as the Cisco IP Communicator
or Cisco Unified Client Services Framework, you can
enter any value up to a maximum of 16 characters.
For the Cisco VG224 Analog Phone Gateway, enter
AN:<MAC address of the gateway>:<port number>.
Enter a port number from 0 to 23. For the MAC
address, enter 12 hexadecimal characters.

Note
You cannot update this information on the Edit Phone
page in the Cisco Business Edition 3000
Administrative Interface.
Name
Enter a description that identifies the phone.Description
From the drop-down list box, choose the phone model
that you want to add. You cannot update this field on
the Edit Phone page in the Cisco Business Edition
3000 Administrative Interface.
