DescriptionSettings
If you include the Blocking and Abbreviated Dialing
Rules information in the Cisco-provided .xls data
configuration file, you can import the Blocking and
Abbreviated Dialing Rules information from the
Cisco-provided .xls data configuration file.
After you click Import Blocking/Abbreviated Dialing
Rules, you must select where the Cisco-provided .xls
data configuration file is located. The Cisco-provided
.xls data configuration file must exist on the desktop
of your PC or on a USB flash drive. After you select
the location, the system attempts to import the
blocking and abbreviated rules. Cisco Business
Edition 3000 displays a report that indicates whether
the insertion succeeded or failed. The report indicates
the number of Blocking/Abbreviated Dialing Rules
that are imported successfully, the number of rules
that failed to get imported, and the reason why the
import failed. If errors (failures) occur, you can save
the errors to a .csv file so that you can correct the
Cisco-provided .xls data configuration file. After you
update the Cisco-provided .xls data configuration file,
attempt the import again through the Dial Plan pages.
Clicking Import Blocking/Abbreviated Dialing Rules
imports Blocking/Abbreviated Dialing Rules if they
are all in the Cisco-provided .xls data configuration
file; you can click the button in either Abbreviated
Dialing page to import both users and phones. (The
system always imports all at the same time if all are
in the file.)
You can import Blocking/Abbreviated Dialing Rules
from any of the tabs on Connections > Dial Plan
page.

Block Rules Settings
Block rules allow Cisco Business Edition 3000 to block unwanted calls based on the number they begin with.
Called party numbers matching the patterns specified in the Blocking Rules will be blocked by the system.
The outgoing calls are routed or blocked based on the most specific matching patterns defined in the system.
If the call you intend to block is still being routed through the system, make the blocking rule more specific
