Connectrix DS-32M2 User Guide
Switch Operating Features
â—† Beaconing to assist service personnel in locating a specific port or
switch. When port beaconing is enabled, the amber LED
associated with the port flashes. When unit beaconing is enabled,
the system error indicator on the front bezel flashes. Beaconing
does not affect port or switch operation.
â—† SNMP management using the Fibre Alliance MIB that runs on the
Connectrix service processor. Up to 12 authorized management
workstations can be configured through the Connectrix Manager
application to receive unsolicited SNMP trap messages. The trap
messages indicate operational state changes and failure
conditions.
â—† SNMP management using the Fibre Channel Fabric Element MIB
(Version 2.0), TCP/IP MIB-II definition (RFC 1213), or a DS-32M2
MIB that runs on each switch. Up to six authorized management
workstations can be configured through the Product Manager
application to receive unsolicited SNMP trap messages. The trap
messages indicate operational state changes and failure
conditions.
â—† Data collection through the Product Manager application to help
isolate system problems. The data includes a memory dump file
and audit, hardware, and engineering logs.
