Syntax
SYSTem:COMMunicate:GPIB[:SELF]:ADDRess <address>
SYSTem:COMMunicate:GPIB[:SELF]:ADDRess?
Description
This command assigns the instrument's GPIB (IEEE-488) address. Each device on the GPIB interface must
have a unique address. The instrument's GPIB address is displayed on the front-panel at power-on.
The new address does not take effect until the next time power is cycled.

Remarks
l Your computer's GPIB interface card has its own address. Be sure to avoid using the computer's address
for any instrument on the interface bus.
l The GPIB address is stored in non-volatile memory, and does not change when power has been off,
after a Factory Reset (*RST command), or after an Instrument Preset (SYSTem:PRESet command).
l The GPIB address is set to 3 when the instrument is shipped from the factory or after a SYSTem:SECur-
ity:IMMediate command.
Return Format
The query returns the GPIB address in the form "+22".
