Checking the needle yoke brake
• Tighten the flywheel brake.
• Determine dimension X.
The needle yoke brake is correctly set when the dimension is X.
The needle yoke brake must be set if the dimension is not X.

Setting the needle yoke brake
• Unscrew the screws (6).
• Loosen counter nut (4).
• Tighten or release the screw (3) until the dimension is X.
• Tighten counter nut (4).
• Slightly pre-tension the spring (7) by tightening the nut (9).
• Tighten screws (6).
Only perform the setting of the spring length Y in idle position (extended position).
• Tension the spring (7) by tightening the nut (9) until spring length is Y.
• Loosen counter nut (11).
• Tighten or release nut (12) until dimension is Z.
• Tighten counter nut (11).
• Measure dimension X.
The needle yoke brake is correctly set when the dimension is X.
If the dimension is not X, the needle yoke brake must be reset, refer to “Setting the
Needle Yoke Brake”.
