The product overview provides the dimensions, details, and performance criteria for the various sizes and configurations.
2.1 Definitions
The following terms, abbreviations, and acronyms are used in this manual.

Flats from finger tight
Finger tight
A reference position in which the given sealing surfaces or components are making
contact with each other. The fitting has been tightened by hand to a point where the
fitting is no longer loose and cannot be tightened further by hand

Hard joint
A joint made with use of a fastener where joining materials are highly incompressible
Header
A machine that cuts and lays crop into a windrow when attached to a windrower
Hex key
A tool of hexagonal cross-section used to drive bolts and screws that have a hexagonal
socket in the head (internal-wrenching hexagon drive); also known as an Allen key
JIC
Joint Industrial Council: A standards body that developed standard sizing and shape for
the original 37° flared fitting
Knife
A cutting device found on a header’s cutterbar which uses a reciprocating cutter (also
called a sickle) to cut crop so that it can be fed into the header
