3. Hold the handle opened and push down on the inside blue lever to unlock the Base
compartment.
4. Pull the Base compartment towards you.
5. Remove jammed envelopes.
Paper Jamming in the Feeder
This occurs when envelopes become blocked in the mail path of the Mixed Mail Feeder.
ActionPossible cause

Clear the Feeder as indicated below.

The item is too thick.
•
The size of the item is incorrect.
•
Too many envelopes are on the Feeder
Deck.
•
Envelopes are not properly stacked in
the Feeder.
1.
Feed sealed envelopes only with sealing
OFF.
2.
Check that sealed envelopes are prop-
erly sealed at the leading edge. En-
velopes not completely closed may jam.
•
Sealing is ON while feeding sealed
envelopes.
Adjust as necessary.•
The thick/thin lever is in the wrong po-
sition.
