The Postal Security Device (Meter) — Postage Meter
The Meter, located in your Mailing System Base, handles the postage funds (or money) in
your system.
The Meter performs all of the postal operations required by Canada Post.To perform these
operations, regular connections of your system to Neopost's Postage Servers is required.
Check to ensure that your Mailing System is connected to a
telephone line or LAN network (see Connections on page 24).
Managing Your Postage Funds
When logging in as a User, you can carry out the following postage funds operations:

Check the available postage funds in your Postage Meter (How to check your Postage
Funds on page 100 )
•
Add more postage funds to your Postage Meter.(How to add Postage Funds on page
101 )
•
Unlock the Postage Meter(How to unlock the Meter (Postal inspection) )
To perform funds operations, check that your Mailing System is
connected (see Connections on page 24 ).
Tracking Your Postage Funds
You can generate reports on the use of your postage funds as all mailing operations involving
your Postage Meter are recorded by your Mailing System.
