12.6.1 Syslog Filter
It is possible to assign up to nine different log levels to the following facilities.
Facility Log Description
Alarms An alarm is detected on the device.
Configuration Configuration changes on the device.
System System changes on the device.
Internal error An internal error is detected on the device.
Authentication User logged in.
Networking Everything related to network interfaces.
Facility Overview of the Log File
The default log level is hard coded. The lower the filter level, the more entries appear
in the log file which may adversely impact the performance of the device.
Level
Description
Emergency The system is unusable.
Alert Action must be taken immediately.
Error Critical conditions.
Warn Normal but significant condition.
Notice Notification messages.
Info Informational messages.
Debug Debug level messages.
Trace Debug level messages.
Off No logging is performed.
