104 Code Quality
The code evaluation settings are made on the Code Quality tab. Code evaluations
based on various standards can be used to compare and check reading results from
different sensors.
105 Separate codes depending on position
If the Separate codes depending on position parameter is activated, codes of the same
type and with identical content are distinguished from one another according to their
position on the object.
For this to take place, there must be a definable minimum distance (Code distance)
between the identical codes on the object.
106 Label timeout active
If the Label timeout active parameter is activated, you can define how much time has to
elapse before an identical code may be output again.
107 Code surrounded by patterns
If the Code surrounded by patterns parameter is activated, any lines (e.g., printed con‐
ductors on a PCB) around the code are disregarded during evaluation.
This keeps the reading operation focused on the code elements and reduces the
decoding time.
NOTE
When the function is activated, poor quality codes tend to be ignored.

SOPAS Parameter Overview

1D Symbologies

Configures parameters for 1D barcode symbologies like Codabar and Code 128.

2D Symbologies

Configures parameters for 2D barcode symbologies like Data Matrix and QR Code.

Code 128

Enables decoding for the Code 128 barcode type, including character sets and structure.

Data Matrix

Enables decoding for the Data Matrix barcode type, specifying character sets and standards.

Image Capturing Mode

Selects between continuous or individual image capture modes for the sensor.

Image selection

Defines which captured images are stored for each reading gate.

Auto-Setup via function button menu

Configures Auto-Setup wizards for reading distance, image settings, and code settings.

Activate teach-in mode

Defines the signal for preparing or starting the teach-in process for match codes.

Output Format 1

Defines the data string format for outputting reading results using custom conditions.

Data transmission point

Defines when reading results are output relative to the reading process (e.g., end of cycle).

Ethernet Aux Port

Configures the Ethernet auxiliary interface for sensor analysis and data output.

CANopen Receive PDOs 1 .. 4

Configures process data objects (PDOs) received by the device via the CANopen interface.

Noise reduction

Smooths images to pick out codes clearly against background noise and improve reading.

Parameterization is password-protected

Activates password protection for device configuration access to prevent unauthorized changes.

Setup

Starts the reading process for testing and optimizing sensor configuration and settings.

Code configuration

Sets decoding parameters for individual code types, influencing teach-in and reading.

Sensitivity

Selects between edge or level control for digital input response based on signal changes.

Logic

Selects the polarity for digital input sensitivity (rising or falling edge).

Read Rate

Displays the ratio of good reads to total triggers, indicating reading performance.

Code Quality

Configures code evaluation settings for checking reading results against various standards.
