384 UPC E
If the UPC E parameter is activated, decoding is enabled for the relevant code type.
NOTE
As only activated code types are processed, the processing speed can be increased by
specifically activating/deactivating the necessary code types.
•

ters for the manufacturer and article, 1 character as the check digit
•
Intrinsic safety: High
•
Spatial requirements: Low
•

385 UPC E extended
If the UPC E extended parameter is activated, 8-character codes based on the UPC E
symbology are automatically converted into 12-character codes. (This requires the Phar‐
macode code type to be deactivated.)
386 Varying Text Size
Activating the Varying Text Size parameter enables texts that contain characters of
slightly varying heights to be read.
This parameter increases the quality and stability of segmentation for certain texts.
387 Connection timeout
The Connection timeout parameter is used to define a timeout in ms for establishing
the connection between the device and the time server. After a connection interruption
or restart, the device attempts to establish a connection to the server at the predefined
intervals.
388 Comparison with Ideal Character
If the Comparison with Ideal Character parameter is activated, the score values are cal‐
culated based on a comparison with the selected ideal characters.
All the characters that have been taught in using the OCR wizard are displayed in a
character table. Well-printed characters can be highlighted as ideal characters in the
table. If the COMPARISON WITH IDEAL CHARACTER parameter is activated, the score values are
calculated based on a comparison with this ideal character.
