holddownpinstoremovethebrakeshoes.

1.Cleanalltheparts.Useawirebrushtoremoverustandunwantedmaterial
fromthebrakepartsbeforeinstallation.
2.Visuallyexaminethebrakeshoesandcontactsurfacesofthebrakedrumfor
excessivewear.Replacethepartsthatarewornanddamaged.
3.Lightlylubricatethebrakeshoepivotpointswithhigh-temperaturegrease.
4.Installthebrakeshoes,holddowns,andsprings.
5.Ifthebrakeplatewasremoved:
A.Installthebrakeplateassemblywiththepreviouslyremovedfasteners.
IMPORTANT
Beforeinstallingthewheelhub,cleanthetapersofthewheel
hubandwheelmotorshaft.Ensurethatthetapersarefreeof
grease,oil,rust,anddirt.Donotuseanti-seizelubricant,when
youinstallthewheelhub.
Donotusethelocknutpreviouslyremovedtoattachthewheel
hubtothewheelmotor.
B.Cleanthetapersofthewheelhubandwheelmotorshaftandinstallthe
woodruffkeyandwheelhub.
C.Installanewwheelhubnut.Useatorquemultiplierandtightenthenut
from475to540N·m(350to400ft-lb).
6.Installthebrakedrum.
7.Connectthebrakecabletothebrakeactuatorleverwiththepreviously
removedfastenersandinstallthebrakereturnspring.
8.Checkandadjustthebrakesasnecessarybeforereturningthemachineto
service;refertothetractionunitOperatorsManual.
9.Installthefrontwheel;refertoRemovingandInstallingtheWheels(page
7–5).
