1.Removethelocknut,hardenedwasher,andpulleyfromthetopofthespindle
shaft.
2.Useanarborpresstoremovethespindleshaftfromthespindlehousing.
Note:Ensurethatthespindleshaftspacerremainsonthespindleshaft
whileremovingtheshaft.
3.Removeanddiscardtheoilsealsfromthespindlehousing.
4.Removethebearingcones,innerbearingspacer,spacerringandspindle
shaftO−ringfromthespindlehousing.DiscardthespindleshaftO−ring.
5.Useanarborpresstoremovethebearingcupsandouterbearingspacer
fromthehousing.
Note:Thelargesnapringcanremaininsidethespindlehousing.Removing
thelargesnapringisverydifcult.
6.Inspectthedrivestuds.Useanarborpresstoreplaceanydrivestudsif
necessary.

IMPORTANT
Donotmixthecomponentsfromonebearingsettoanother.Replace
thebearingsasacompletesetonly.
Donotmixthecomponentsfromonespacersettoanother.Replace
thespacersasacompletesetonly.
Areplacementbearingsetcontains2bearings,aspacerring,andalargesnap
ring.Areplacementspacersetincludestheinnerspacerandouterspacer.

IMPORTANT
Ifnewbearingsareinstalledintoausedspindlehousing,itisnot
necessarytoreplacetheoriginallargesnapring.Iftheoriginalsnap
ringisingoodconditionwithnosignofdamage(e.g.,spunbearing),
leavethesnapringinthehousinganddiscardthesnapringthat
comeswiththenewbearings.Ifthelargesnapringisdamaged,
replacethesnapring.
