1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingunit(orattachment),
engagetheparkingbrake,setthekeyswitchtotheOFFpositionandremove
thekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Disconnectthecompressorelectricalconnectorfrommachinewireharness.
WARNING
Theairconditioningsystemisunderhighpressure.Donotloosen
anysystemttingorcomponentuntilafterthesystemhasbeen
completelydischargedbyacertiedairconditioningservice
technician.
3.Haverefrigerantevacuatedfromairconditioningsystembyacertiedair
conditioningservicetechnician.Disconnectthehosesatthecompressor,
thencapthettingsandplugthehosestopreventcontaminationfrom
enteringtheairconditioningsystem.
4.Removethefueltank;refertoRemovingandInstallingtheFuelTank(page
4–18).
5.Loosentheturnbucklejamnutsandrotatetheturnbuckletorelievethebelt
tension.RemovetheV-beltfromthecompressorpulleyandinspectforwear
ordamage.
IMPORTANT
Topreventcompressoroilfromllingthecompressorcylinders,
keepcompressorinthesameorientationastheinstalledposition.
6.Removethecompressorfromthebracket.Locateandretrieveanyshims
(item2).
Note:Useshimsasneededtominimizethegapbetweenthecompressor
andthebracketbeforetighteningfasteners.
7.Toinstallthecompressor,followthisprocedureinreverseorder.
8.Adjustthecompressorbelttension;refertoAdjustingtheCompressorBelt
Tension(page9–7).
9.Haveacertiedairconditioningservicetechnicianevacuatetheair
conditioningsystemcompletely,properlyrechargethesystemwithR134a
refrigerantandthenleaktestthesystem.Airconditioningsystemcapacity
is0.9kg(30ozor1.88lbs)ofR134arefrigerant.
