PrimingtheFuelSystem
Thefuelsystemneedstobeprimedbeforestartingtheengineforthersttime,
afterrunningoutoffuel,orafterfuelsystemmaintenance(e.g.,drainingthe
fuel/waterseparator,replacingthefuellterordisconnectingafuelhose).
IMPORTANT
DonotturnthekeyswitchtotheSTARTpositiontoprimethefuel
system.
Toprimethefuelsystem:
1.Ensurethatthefueltankhasfuelinit.
2.Allowtheelectricfuelpumptoprimethefuelsystembyturningthekey
switchtotheRUNpositionfor10to15seconds.Cyclethekeyswitchand
repeatifnecessary.
RemovingandInstallingtheFuelTank
RefertoFigure15forthisprocedure.
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingunit(orattachment),
engagetheparkingbrake,setthekeyswitchtotheOffpositionandremove
thekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Emptythefueltankthroughthellerneck.
3.OpenthehoodandremovetheleftsideholddownbracketfromtheROPS.
4.Removethebatterycover.
5.Removethecapscrew(item2)fromunderthefrontofthefueltank.
IMPORTANT
Topreventdamagetothefuelhoses,cabletiesandclampsmay
beusedtosecurethehosestothemachinecomponents.Record
thelocationofallcabletiesandclampsthatareremovedfromthe
machinesotheycanbeproperlyreplaced.
6.Labelthefuelhosesforassemblypurposes.Loosenthehoseclampsand
disconnectthehosesfromthefueltank.
7.Coverorplugthefuelhosesorttingopeningstopreventcontamination
fromenteringthefuelsystem.
8.Removethefueltankfromthemachine.
9.Inspectthe4rubberbumpersthatsupportthefueltankfordamageorwear
andreplacethemifnecessary.
10.Inspectthe3rubbergrommetsthatsupportthefuelttingsfordamageor
wearandreplacethemifnecessary.
11.T oinstallthefueltank,followthisprocedureinreverseorder.
12.Iftheelbowttingsareremovedfromthefuel/waterseparatorhead,apply
threadsealanttothettingswheninstalling.
