8-38 Qualitek mR Owner’s Guide
8.13 Internal Clock Battery Replacement
All but the earliest Qualitek mR testers have a user-replaceable Lithium button
battery; Panasonic BR2330 or equivalent. The battery is used to retain the clock
time across power cycles. When the battery weakens, the time will have to be set
when powering up.
The battery only affects time-keeping and not the tester programming. The tester
may still perform tests, although the current time will have to set by the user each
time the tester is restarted.
The earliest versions of Qualitek mR have a soldered-in battery. The tester can be
returned to Uson for battery replacement or, if requested, Uson will ship a new
battery and battery holder to the user for installation on-site.
Instructions for battery replacement for battery-holder models and soldered-in
models are given below.
8.13.1 Replacing the Battery in Battery-Holder Models
To replace the battery:
1. Remove power from the tester.
2. Remove the cover.
3. Slide the battery out of the holder.
4. Replace the battery (positive side of battery faces away from the holder.)

6. When the unit has completed its boot-up, go to the Hardware Setup > Clock
screen and reset the time.
