6.2.5.9 Modbus
The tester can operate as a Modbus Remote Terminal Unit (RTU) by making the
appropriate selections on the Modbus tabs. Modbus is available only on testers for
which this option has been purchased.
General Tab Settings
At present, the only Modbus Mode is RTU.
The Modbus Address may be set within the range of 1 to 247.
The Architecture Select can be either Little Endian or Big Endian to best suit your
requirements.
Four boxes are for information only and therefore cannot be changed. These are:
• No. of Coils
• No. of Inputs
• No. of Input Registers
• No. of Holding Registers
Modbus Mapping Tab Settings
This tab is where selections are made to implement the various Modbus building
blocks to use in your system. An example of this screen is shown below. Normally,
these settings will be provided by, or are made by, your site Programmer or System
Integrator.
Press the Set Default button to set the Modbus Editor to default settings. See "QmR
Modbus" on page 9-1 for a detailed discussion of the nomenclature and registers
used in the Mapping Tab.
