FRONT FORK
14.Measure:
• Front fork leg oil level “a”
(from the top of the outer tube, with the outer
tube fully compressed and without the fork
spring)
Out of specification Correct.
15.Install:
• Damper rod locknut
• Fork spring
• Spacer
• Cap bolt
(along with the O-ring )
EWA12850
Always use a new O-ring.
a. Remove the rod puller and rod puller at-
tachment.
b. Install the damper rod locknut.
c. Install the fork spring and spacer.
Install the spring with the smaller diameter facing
up.
d. Press down in the spacer with the fork
spring compressor “1”.
e. Pull up the rod puller and install the rod
holder “2” between the damper rod locknut
“3” and the spacer “4”.
Use the side of the rod holder that is marked “B”.
f. Remove the rod puller and the rod puller at-
tachment.
g. Install the damper rod locknut “3” onto the
damper rod and turn it until it stops.
h. Install the cap bolt “5”, and then tighten the
damper rod locknut “3” until it contacts the bolt.
i. Hold the cap bolt and tighten the damper
rod locknut to specification.
j. Remove the rod holder and fork spring
compressor.
