c. Measure the crankshaft journal diameter
“a” of each crankshaft journal at two places.
If it is out of specification, replace the crank-
shaft.
d. Measure the crankshaft journal bearing in-
side diameter “b” of each crankshaft journal
bearing at two places.
e. If the crankshaft journal bearing inside di-
ameter is “55.03” and crankshaft journal di-
ameter is “54.98”, then the journal oil
clearance is:
If the oil clearance is out of specification,
select replacement bearings.
6. Select:
• Crankshaft journal bearing (J

)
• The numbers “A” is stamped onto the crank-
shaft web, the number “B” on the left crank-
case, and the number “C” on the right
crankcase.
• The numbers “A”, “B”, and “C”are used to de-
termine the replacement crankshaft journal
bearing size.
