Map Definition
DefinetheassociationofcustomertrafficonaUNIportwithanEVCbydefininganentity
calledanEVC‐map.EachEVC‐mapisty picallyassociatedwithasinglecustomerand
specifiesparametersincludingthecustomerVLANIDandClassofService(CoS)behaviorof
thetrafficfromthecustomer.
UseamaptoclassifytrafficforusebyanEVCforforwarding
andforusebyapolicerforratelimiting.
Map Guidelines
Toensurevalidprovisioning,enforcethefollowingguidelineswhencreatingamap:
•AmapisappliedonlyiftheEVCmap’sstatusisRunning(asindicatedintheshowevc‐
mapoutput),whichindicatesthattheconditionsarevalid
•Twomapsareconsideredtobeduplicateiftheybothhavethesame
valuesforthe
followingattributes:
–UNIport
–CE‐VLAN‐ID
–OverlappingrangeforCE‐VLAN ‐Pri
– DifferentiatedServicesCodePoint(DSCP)value
– Untaggedprioritytaggedframes
•Notwomapscanhavethesamename
•IfthesystemismanagedthroughaVLANonadesignatedbondinggrouporEthernet
port,themanagementVIDvalue
cannotequaltheCE‐VLAN‐IDvalueofthemap
•IftheCE‐VLAN‐IDpreservationattributeofanEVCisdisabled,allof themapsconnected
totheEVCmusthavethesamevalueoftheCE‐VLAN‐IDattributewhichcanincludenot
specifyingthis attributewhichallowsmeans
theEVC‐mapdoesnotconsiderVLAN‐ID
initsmatchcriteria
•WhenmultiplemapsareappliedtoasingleEVC,eachmapmusthavethesameUNI.
MultipleUNIscannotbe mappedtoasingleEVC
•IftwoormoremapshaveeitherthesameUNIorthesameassociated
EVC,onlyoneof
themapscanbeprovisionedtoallowuntaggedandprioritytaggedframes
