Map Definition
DefinetheassociationofcustomertrafficonaUNIportwithanEVCbydefininganentity
calledaEVC‐map.EachEVC‐mapistypicallyassociatedwithasinglecustomerandspecifies
parametersincludingthecustomerVLANIDandClassofService(CoS)behaviorofthetraffic
fromthecustomer.
UseamaptoclassifytrafficforusebyanEVCforforwardingandforuse
byapolicerforratelimiting.
Map Guidelines
Toensurevalidprovisioning,enforcethefollowingguidelineswhencreatingamap:
•AmapisappliedonlyiftheEVCmap’sstatusisRunning(asindicatedintheshowevc‐
mapoutput),whichindicatesthattheconditionsarevalid
•Twomapsareconsideredtobeduplicateiftheybothhavethesame
valuesforthe
followingattributes:
–UNIport
–CE‐VLAN‐ID
–OverlappingrangeforCE‐VLAN ‐Pri
– DifferentiatedServicesCodePoint(DSCP)value
– Untaggedprioritytaggedframes
•Notwomapscanhavethesamename
•IfthesystemismanagedthroughaVLANonadesignatedEthernetport,the
managementVIDvaluecannotequalthe
CE‐VLAN‐IDvalueofthe map
•IftheCE‐VLAN‐IDpreservationattributeofanEVCisdisabled,allof themapsconnected
totheEVCmusthavethesamevalueoftheCE‐VLAN‐IDattribute
•IftwoormoremapshaveeitherthesameUNIorthesame
associatedEVC,onlyoneof
themapscanbeprovisionedtoallowuntaggedandprioritytaggedframes
