Bonding Group Definition
Abonding(bridge)groupisdefinedas“VirtualLANterminologyforagroupofswitchinter‐
facesassignedtoasingularbridgeunitandnetworkinterface.”
TheEFMbonding(bridge)groupbundlesmultipleDS3linestogethertoprovidebandwidth
equaltothesumoftheDS3sbonded.Thisprocessprovidesthe
necessarybandwidthfor
service.Forexample,threeDS3sbondedtogetherprovidethreetimesthespeedof1DS3
(3x44.736=134.208Mbpsofbandwidth)totransportethernettraffic.
Provisioning Steps
ThisprocedurecreatesanEFMbondinggroupattheGigESMthatbondsthephysicallayer
ports(DS3)oftheaccessmodule(s)together.
Tocreateanewbondinggroup,completethefollowing:
1. FromtheEnableprompt,type
application,andpressENTERtoaccesstheApplication
Configuratonprompt.
2. FromtheApplication Configurationprompt,type
ez-efm <shelf>,andpressENTERto
starttheEZEthernetapplication.
3. FromtheEFMConf igurationprompt,typeoneofthefollowingcommandstocreatean
EFMBondingGroup:
•ToprovisiontheDS3 EFM4‐Port,type
create WORD <EFM links> <slot/port>
