AnEVCmapclassifiestrafficingressingaUNIintoanEVCgivenconfiguredmatchcriteria.It
uniquelyidentifiesasubscribertrafficflowwithinanEVCandprovidesthemechanismfor
VLANtagmanipulation,IngressBandwidthPolicing,forwarding,andqueuing.
EVC Map Attributes
TheattributesofaEVCMaparedescribedinthefollowingsections.
Destination EVC
ThisattributedefinesthenameoftheEVCthattheEVCmapisfowardingtraffictoand
receivingfrom.ThisattributecanalsobeusedtodiscardtrafficmatchedbytheEVCmap.An
EVCmapislimited toasingleEVCconnection.
Name
ThisattributeisanarbitrarystringthatisusedtoidentifytheEVCmap.Thevaluemustbe
uniqueacrossallEVCmapsdefinedinthenetworkelementandisintendedformanagement
andcontrolpurposes.ThevalueisnotcarriedinanyfieldintheEthernetframe.Asan
example,
theserviceprovidermightuse“SCPOP1‐Node3‐Slot2‐Port1”tosignifyport1inslot
2ofnode3inSantaClaraPOP1.
Configuration Status
ThisattributeindicatesthecurrentstatusoftheEVCmap.TheEVCmapcanbeadministra‐
tivelyenabled,butitcannotbeinafunctionalstateifitisnotfullyconfiguredorifthereisa
conflict.TableF‐6liststhepossiblevalues.
