MT8852B Operation Manual PN: 13000-00205 Rev. N B-3
Dirty mode (single payload mode only)
See “Dirty transmitter”.
Dirty params table
The dirty parameters table is used in sensitivity tests for all measurement groups.
Dirty transmitter
Turns the dirty transmitter on or off.
Edit dirty table
Provides access to the dirty transmitter settings table. The table can be edited to permit
testing of the EUT with user-defined impairments. Increased impairments may be required
during design verification or stress testing.
EUT power level
Select "EUT power level" and press to toggle between "MAX", "MIN", and "MAX &
MIN". The "MAX" and "MIN" settings set the EUT to its maximum or minimum power
respectively. If "MAX & MIN" is selected, the EUT is set initially to its maximum power and
testing is then repeated after resetting the EUT to its minimum power.
Frequency
The frequency or channel on which measurements are performed.
Hopping
Hopping can be set to ON or OFF. If set to ON the user can then select from three further
hopping test mode settings as defined below.
Hopping test mode
Three hopping test mode settings are available: Defined, All, and Any
Defined: The MT8852B triggers a measurement only when the link hops to one of the
frequencies defined on the LOW, MEDIUM and HIGH set up page. The number of
packets measured at each frequency is set by the user in the "Number of packets"
field. This is the test method described in the Bluetooth RF Test Specification.
All: The MT8852B measures the power at each of the 79 frequencies in the Bluetooth
channel structure. The measurement continues until the number of packets
measured at each frequency matches the value set by the user in the "Number of
packets" field.
Any: The MT8852B measures the power at the next frequency that the link hops to after
the previous power measurement has been completed. The total number of packets
measured is set by the user in the "Number of packets" field. This is typically the
shortest of the three options as there is no requirement to measure a large number
of packets at specified frequencies.
