Glossary
B-4 PN: 13000-00205 Rev. N MT8852B Operation Manual
Low, medium, and high
The LOW, MEDIUM and HIGH frequencies relate to the default frequencies specified in the
Bluetooth RF test specification.
Measurement delay
The time delay between the step command and the time that measurement is commenced.
This allows the EUT transmitter power to settle before the MT8852B starts to measure
power.
Minimum sensitivity check
Set "Min sensitivity check" to True or False. When “TRUE”, the MT8852B sends decrement
commands to set the EUT to its minimum transmitter power level. Measurements are then
performed with the EUT transmitting at minimum power. When “FALSE”, the MT8852B
measures relative power only with the EUT transmitting at maximum power. When “TRUE”
if the EUT supports power control, the MT8852B also measures relative power at the EUT
minimum power setting.
Minimum test power
Use the keypad to enter a value for the minimum EUT power. When a power below this value
is received by the MT8852B it will start sending increment power commands, even if it has
not received a minimum power command from the EUT. This prevents the EUT from
disconnecting from the MT8852B by transmitting at a level below the receiver sensitivity.
Number of bits
The number of bits sent by the MT8852B for BER measurements. The MT8852B
automatically calculates the number of packets that will be required to send the number of
bits.
Number of blocks
When tests require the MT8852B to perform measurement across the length of the payload,
the payload is divided into blocks for analysis. This setting defines the number of blocks to be
included in the measurement.
Number of packets
Used to specify the number of packets measured at each of the “LOW”, “MEDIUM” and
“HIGH” frequencies.
Packets per step
This is the number of EUT packets measured at each power control step.
Packet type
Select the required packet type: Longest, DH1, DH3, or DH5. Longest sets the packet type to
the longest length that the EUT supports as reported by the EUT supported features.
