The default criteria for this test is that the longest supported /4DQPSK and the longest
support 8DPSK packets must both be tested in loopback mode with hopping off.
The diagram above illustrates the definition of EVM. For EVM measurements, the ideal
symbol points are the same for every sequential symbol. In comparison, for DEVM
measurements, the actual symbol position of the current symbol is used as the ideal position
from which EVM measurements are made for the subsequent symbol. In the figure above,
DEVM for the next symbol would be measured relative to “Measured symbol position 1”
rather than to “Ideal symbol position”.
The table below details the test conditions and the associated default settings. Permitted
variations from the default setting are detailed in the “User Range” column.
