DescriptionSetting
Cisco Mobile Solutions
Enable Cisco Mobile Client Support and configure a supported mobile client that you want to associate with
new users.
You cannot use the .xls data configuration file to configure a mobile client for existing users.
To configure a mobile client for an existing user, edit the user configuration on the User page
(Users/Phones > Users) in the Cisco Business Edition 3000 Administrative Interface, as described
in User Settings, on page 385.
Note
A unique device ID is automatically generated for each user. (The first part of the device ID is not
unique and is related to the phone type that you select.)
The administrator provides the end user the device ID along with the IP address of the TFTP server
that stores the configuration file for the device. This information is needed to configure the mobile
client. The user or the administrator can access the device ID on the User Preferences page.
Note
To enable Cisco Mobile Client Support for a user, select
the user phone type from a list of mobile phones that
support Cisco mobile clients.
Phone Type
Enter a phone number for the mobile client (the mobile
phone number of the end user) that includes an access
code, area code and so on. (For example, enter the
phone number as if you were placing a call from your
desk phone.)
If you select iPhone or Android as the phone
type, you must enter a phone number for the
mobile client.
If you select End User specified as the phone
type, Cisco Mobile Client Support is enabled
for that user and a license is consumed, but
the user must enter the phone number for their
mobile client on the User Preferences page.
