DescriptionSetting
Specifies the number of digits the user dials to place a call through
the PSTN connection. The Cisco Business Edition 3000
communicates this number to the Cisco Business Edition 3000.
This field works in tandem with the Extension Length field on the
Dial Plan settings, which tells the Cisco Business Edition 3000 how
many of the expected digits are significant.

• Wink Start
• Delay Dial
Signalling type
Outbound Call Routing Information
From the drop-down list, choose the discard digit instructions to
use for outbound call routing for the PSTN connection.
Choose one of the following from the drop-down list and click Save.
• Digit Discard Instruction
Automatic—Select this option to use the digit discard
instructions based on the dial plan and retain the system-default
behavior.
• Set Manually—Select this option to customize the digit discard
instructions.
Click Edit to edit the digit discard instructions. The digit
discard instructions that appears depend on the numbering
plan that you choose from the Dial Plan drop-down list on the
System Settings > Dial Plan > General tab. For information
on configuring the digit discard instructions, see Digit Discard
Instructions Settings, on page 308.

Inbound Call Routing Information
From the drop-down list, select the number of digits that will be
retained in the incoming called party number.
Remove all but the last
Enter the digits to prepend to the retained digits of the incoming
called party number. Valid entries include the digits 0 through 9,
the wildcard characters asterisk (*) and octothorpe (#), and the
international escape character +.
The final number (digits retained + prefix digits) must be
equal in length to the extension length in the system.
