CHAPTER 7: PROTECTION CONTROL ELEMENTS

LINE DISTANCE PROTECTION SYSTEM – INSTRUCTION MANUAL 379
Set To Preset
Range: any FlexLogic operand or shared operand
Default: OFF
This setting selects an operand used to set the count to the preset value and functions
as follows:
– The counter is set to the preset value when the counter is enabled and the
operand assigned to the
Set To Preset setting is asserted (logic 1). When the
counter is enabled and the operand assigned to the
Set To Preset value is logic 0,
the counter is set to 0.
– The counter is set to the preset value when the counter is running and operand
assigned to the
Set To Preset setting changes the state from 0 to 1. If the operand
assigned to the
Set To Preset setting changes from 1 to 0 while the counter is
running, there is no effect on the count.
– The counter is set to the preset value when a reset or reset/freeze command is
sent to the counter and the operand assigned to the
Set To Preset setting is logic
1. When a reset or reset/freeze command is sent to the counter and the operand
assigned to the
Set To Preset setting is logic 0, the counter is set to 0.
Reset
Range: any FlexLogic operand or shared operand
Default: OFF
This setting selects an operand for setting the count to either 0 or the preset value
depending on the state of the operand assigned to the
Set To Preset setting.
Freeze/Reset
Range: any FlexLogic operand or shared operand
Default: OFF
This setting selects an operand for capturing (freezing) the accumulated count value into
a separate register with the date and time of the operation, and resetting the count to 0.
Freeze/Count
Range: any FlexLogic operand or shared operand
Default: OFF
This setting selects an operand for capturing (freezing) the accumulated count value into
a separate register with the date and time of the operation, and for continuing counting.
The present accumulated value and captured frozen value with the associated date and
time stamp are available as actual values. If control power is interrupted, the
accumulated and frozen values are saved into non-volatile memory during the power
down operation.
The figure shows the digital counter logic. The logic is identical for all digital counters.
