Input Mode
Range: Signed, Absolute
Default: Signed
If this setting value is “Signed,” then the FlexElement responds directly to the differential
signal. If this setting value is “Absolute,” then the FlexElement responds to the absolute
value of the differential signal. Sample applications for the absolute input mode include
monitoring the angular difference between two phasors with a symmetrical limit angle
in both directions, monitoring power regardless of its direction, or monitoring a trend
regardless of whether the signal increases of decreases.
Compare Mode
Range: Level, Delta
Default: Level
This setting specifies how the element responds to its operating signal. If this setting
value is “Level,” the element responds directly to its operating signal (as defined by the
Input Plus, Input Minus, and Input Mode settings). If this setting value if “Delta,” the
element responds to the rate of change of its operating signal (as defined by the
Delta T
and
Delta T Units settings).
Direction Type
Range: Over, Under
Default: Over
This setting enables the relay to respond to either high or low values of the operating
signal.
