11. Press Move to Scan.
12. Deliver the breathing and table movement instructions.

Press Start Scan.

Repeat steps 11–13 to acquire an orthogonal scout scan.
15. Proceed to Section 4.
2.4 Acquire a heart localizer or calcium score scan (optional, but recommended)
Use this procedure to acquire Axial images that can be used to determine the start and end
locations for the heart scan, and to determine the location for the contrast bolus tracking scan.
1.
From the
Scan Settings
window, click [Continue].
2. Choose one of the following options:
Option 1: Gated localizer for calcium scoring
1. Make sure the scan type is
Cardiac
.
2.
For calcium scoring recommended scan settings, see Section 3.4, Cardiac scan
modes .
3.
Adjust the position of the Graphic Rx region to fully cover the heart.
Option 2: Ungated localizer
1.
Maker sure the scan type is
Helical
.
2.
Recommended settings: 120 kV, 0.5 seconds, 60 mA (100 mA for large patients),
1.375:1 pitch, 55 table speed, 40 mm detector coverage.
3.
Position the localizer lines to cover just the heart, approximately from the carina to 2
cm below the apex of the heart.

Evaluate the ECG waveform for heart rate stability.
4. Click [Confirm Settings].
