4 Exam Split
Exam Split gives you the capability to divide a series of patient images into separate groups.
These new smaller image groups can be networked to desired reading stations for multiple
"reads" and multiple billings on select patient exams.
Exam Split
allows you to split images from a single acquisition and assign them to a Requested
Procedure ID or accession number retrospectively.
NOTE:
Exam Split
requires that a worklist server be confgured.
4.1 Exam Split Configuration
Your system is configured in one of two modes for
Exam Split:
virtual mode or hard mode. The
configuration depends on the system to which you will send the images. A GE Field Engineer
performs this configuration based on input from your site IT and PACS administration.
4.1.1 Virtual mode
In virtual mode, images are auto transferred to the remote station. Ranges of images are
assigned to each accession number or procedure code, and a GSPS object is created and
transferred when selected. To use virtual mode, your remote stations must support Performed
Procedure Step (PPS) and Gray Scale Presentation State (GSPS).
4.1.2 Hard mode
In hard mode,
Exam Split
creates a new series of images for each accession number or
procedure code to which ranges of images are assigned. Images are not auto transferred to the
remote station. Use this mode if your remote stations do not support Performed Procedure Step
(PPS) and Gray Scale Presentation State (GSPS)
4.2 Selecting exams to be split
