5.3 Defibrillation in AED Mode
5.3.1 Information on the AED Mode
The use of a defibrillator in AED mode is not recommended for patients of less
than 12 months of age.
If no special paediatric AED device is available for patients aged between 1 and
8 years, it is recommended to use the defibrillator in AED mode with corPatch
electrodes (Neonate or Pediatric).
When corpuls
3
is in AED mode, the user is guided through a standardised
resuscitation protocol. The algorithm is governed by the current
recommendations of the European Resuscitation Council 2010.
The boot-up time of the corpuls
3
is reduced if the corpuls
3
is switched on
directly in AED mode by pressing the AED key.
After pressing the AED key the following screen structure appears:
