The selected energy level is available for 30 seconds after charging. If no shock
is triggered within this time span, the device discharges itself internally.
For safety reasons, when using shock paddles, the keys Charge and Shock on
the monitoring unit are blocked. The charging and release of the defibrillation
shock can only be triggered via the shock paddle buttons.
To pause the charging process, simultaneously press both shock paddle
buttons briefly. To continue the charging process, briefly press one of the shock
paddle buttons.
Energy selection can be performed by connecting both electrode surfaces of the
shock paddles (short-circuiting). To decrease the energy, briefly press the
APEX shock paddle button. To increase the energy, briefly press the
STERNUM shock paddle button.
