the
desired
data
comm
buffer
size

terminal.
The
range
of
permissible
values
is
128
bytes
(characters)
through
2048 bytes.
There
is
a
total
of
4096
bytes
available
for
datacomm
buffers for
the
terminal.
The
NumBuf 5
and
Buf 5 i z e
parameters,
when
multiplied
by
each
other,
must
not
exceed 4096. (Total
buffer
memory
is
deter-
mined
by
multiplying
Numbufs
by
Bufsize.)
Note
that
this
bufferallocation affects
the
amount
of
memory
available
for
the
display.
When
receiving
input
from
the
host
computer
the
terminal
will
automatically
concatenate
two
or
more
of
the
allocated buffers,
if
necessary,
to
accommodate a
particularly
large
block
of
data.

This
field specifies
whether
the
datacomm
clock source
is
to
be
generated
by
the
terminal
or
by
the
external
device.
If
the
external
clock source
is
selected,
this
field
also
specifies
whether
the
clock
being
supported
has
1
or
16 clock
pulses
per
bit.
