16.1 General malfunctions

Pick-up cannot be lowered.
Hydraulic hose not inserted.
• Insert hydraulic hose into
the corresponding
coupling.
Clamping pressure does not
build up.
Handwheel is in parking
position.
• Completely screw in the
handwheel
Screw out handwheel for
baling pressure.
• Set handwheel for baling
pressure to the desired
pressure.
Blockages in the feed area.
Caution! When there are
blockages, stop immediately
and switch off PTO shaft as
the bale formation conveyor
strips could otherwise be
damaged. Then remove
blockages.
The swaths are irregularly
high or too large.
• Split swaths.
The driving speed is too high.
• Reduce driving speed.
Slow down at the
beginning of the baling
process until the picked
up crops roll into the bale
chamber.
The machine is not hitched
horizontally.
• Attach machine higher at
front. Set the drawbar
height so that the
transition from pick-up to
channel is more even.
The transfer of short crops
from pick-up to cutting roller
is poor.
The machine is too low at
front.
• Attach machine higher at
front, adjust drawbar
height so that transition
from pick-up to channel
is smooth.
Crops are taken upward by
bale formation conveyor
The setting of bale inner core
is too tight.
• Adapt soft core or reduce
baling pressure.
When the bales are barrel-
shaped, the wrapping
material tears up in the
middle.
The bale chamber is filled
irregularly.
• Drive over the swath on
alternate sides.
The number of layers of tying
material is too low.
• Increase number of
layers.
Net brake is too tight.
• Loosen net brake.
