Medium-speed range
• When the engine speed reaches the medium
range, the SSV opens and intake air from the
secondary port begins. Due to this, the intake air
amount increases, improving torque at the engine
medium-speed range.
Medium-to-high-speed range
• When the engine speed reaches the medium-to-
high range, the VFAD and APV open.
• When the VFAD valve (13B-MSP (High Power))
opens, intake air resistance is reduced by the
shortening of air length in the fresh-air duct pipe.
• When the APV (13B-MSP (High Power)) opens,
air from all intake ports is fed, improving torque at
the medium-to-high-speed range.
