2. On the setup menu, select the UT icon ( ), and then press the Enter key to
open the UT dialog box (see Figure 8-1 on page 91).
3. Press the Enter key to select Range, and then turn the adjustment knob to set the
range based on the sound path range within the selected calibration block.
Use a greater range than necessary to ensure all calibration echoes appear on the
screen.
4. Press the Tab key to move to Velocity, and then turn the adjustment knob to set an
approximate velocity for the test material.
Note that the Ve loc ity parameter is disabled when the instrument is in time-of-
flight (µs) mode.
5. Press the Tab key to move to Zero, and then adjust the zero offset of the
instrument to 0.700 (µs).
6. Press the Tab key to move to Delay, then adjust the screen delay to 0.000.
7. Press the ESC key twice to return to the setup menu.
