11. Software Features and Options
This chapter explains the activation and operation of software features and options
for the EPOCH 6LT ultrasonic flaw detector.
11.1 Defining Licensed and Unlicensed Software Features
The EPOCH 6LT comes standard with many software features that expand the
instrument’s capabilities beyond standard flaw detection.
The following software features are standard components of the EPOCH 6LT:
• Dynamic DAC/TCG
• AWS D1.1/D1.5
The following software features are optional components of the EPOCH 6LT, which
you can purchase to add to the instrument:
• Back Wall Echo Attenuator (BEA)
•Corrosion Module
The optional software features can be activated at the time of purchase of the
instrument, or they can be activated remotely after purchase of the instrument.
If an optional software feature is not activated, you cannot access that feature in the
Software Options dialog box (see “Activating Software Options” on page 152).
Olympus can provide you with an activation code that grants access to the option so
you do not have to return the instrument to a service center.
