5. Press the ESC key to close the AWS dialog box and display the AWS menu in
inspection mode.
6. Press the Enter key to select G1Start, and then turn the adjustment knob to center
gate 1 over the echo.
7. Press the Tab key to highlight Ref Level, and then set the level to what you desire
(default value is 50 %)
The EPOCH 6LT enables you to define the reference level to adhere to best
practices and procedures. The reference reflector is often a side-drilled hole in the
calibration block used for the angle beam calibration. Other reference reflectors
can be used provided that they meet AWS requirements for these inspections.
8. Press the Tab key to highlight Auto XX% (default value is 50 %), and then press
the Enter key (see Figure 11-25 on page 183).
In AWS mode, the Ref Level value determines the actual Auto XX% value.
