You cannot activate the peak memory function in the unrectified Rect = RF mode.
To activate the peak memory function
1. With a gate active and the sidebar menu displayed, turn the adjustment knob to
select the PeakMem button (see Figure 7-11 on page 85).
2. Press the Enter key to activate the peak memory function.
The flag appears to indicate that the function is active.
3. Scan over a reflector to acquire the echo envelope.
4. Press the Enter key again to deactivate the peak memory function.
7.11 Peak Hold
The peak hold function is similar to the peak memory function as both capture the
current screen when they are activated. The difference is that with peak hold, the
captured waveform is frozen on the screen and does not update even if the live
waveform exceeds the frozen waveform’s amplitude.
Peak hold is useful when you want to obtain a waveform from a known sample and
compare it to a waveform from an unknown test piece.
To activate peak hold
1. Obtain an echo on the screen.
2. On the sidebar menu, select PeakHold.
This captures the screen yet still allows viewing of the live waveform. The flag
appears to indicate that the function is active.
3. Select PeakHold again to deactivate the peak hold function.
