Glow Plug Switch
How It Works
Testing - Water Temperature Light
Testing - Glow Plug Light
Purpose
Location
If the engine coolant gets too hot, the water temperature
light illuminates and an audible alarm sounds.
If the glow plugs are receiving power, the indicator light
illuminates.
The glow plug switch activates the glow plug relay which
powers the glow plugs in addition to turning the glow
plug indicator light on.

The glow plug switch is located in the center of the
control panel (Fig. 0812).
Disconnect the wire harness plug from the lights. Con-
nect 12v (+) to the “1A” terminal and connect ground
(-) to the “1B” terminal. If the light does not illuminate
replace the light assembly (Fig. 0811).
Connect 12v (+) to the “2A” terminal and connect ground
(-) to the “2B” terminal. If the light does not illuminate
replace the light assembly (Fig. 0811).
If indidcator lights test OK, check the circuit wiring,
Temperature Sender, Glow Plug Switch and Relay.
