whenthebeltispressedinthemiddleofthespan
(Fig.0071).
A. Deection
1. Stoptheengineandremovethekey.
2. Applymoderatethumbpressuretobeltbetweenthe
alternatorandcrankshaftpulleys.
3. Iftensionisincorrect,loosenthealternatormounting
boltsand,usingaleverplacedbetweenthe
alternatorandtheengineblock,pullthealternator
outuntilthedeectionofthebeltfallswithin
acceptablelimits.
