4520P Installing the Engine
CAUTION
The engine is very heavy, and a hoist not rated for the weight of the engine may
fail, causing possible injury and damage to the engine.
Use hoist equipment rated to lift the engine, which is approximately 72kg (159
lb).
CAUTION
Use 1 person to operate the lift or hoist while the other person guides the
engine into the machine.
IMPORTANT
When installing the engine ensure that you do not damage the engine, fuel
hoses, hydraulic lines, electrical harness, radiator, or other parts.
1. Attach a suitable lift or hoist to the lift tabs on the engine. Support the engine with
lift or hoist to prevent the engine from shifting or moving.
2. Position the engine in the machine aligning the mounting holes.
3. Install the engine mounting bolts.
4. Connect the oil drain line to the frame.
5. Connect the fuel lines.
6. Connect the ground cable.
7. Connect the engine wiring harness.
8. Connect the PTO electric clutch wiring harness.
9. Connect the throttle cable; refer to Removing and Installing the Throttle Cable,
page 4–20.
10. Install the drive shaft; refer to Removing and Installing the Drive Shaft, page 4–
19.
11. Install the radiator; refer to 4520P Installing the Radiator, page 4–16.
12. Install the air cleaner system; refer to 4520P Removing and Installing the Air
Cleaner System, page 4–3.
13. Install the hood and grill assembly; refer to Removing and Installing the Hood,
page 7–13, Removing and Installing the Grill, page 7–14.
14. Connect the battery; refer to Installing the Battery, page 6–66.
15. Turn the fuel valve to the O
N position.
