ABS (Anti-lock Brake System)
9. Check:
• Hydraulic unit operation
Click “Actuator Check”, a single pulse will be
generated in the front brake lever “1”, rear
brake lever “2”, and again in the front brake
lever “1”, in this order.
“ON” and “OFF” on the tool screen indicate
when the brakes are being applied and released
respectively.

• Check that the pulse is felt in the front
brake lever, rear brake lever, and again in
the front brake lever, in this order.
• If the pulse is felt in the rear brake lever be-
fore it is felt in the front brake lever, check
that the brake hoses and brake pipes are
connected correctly to the hydraulic unit
assembly.
• If the pulse is hardly felt in either the front
brake lever or rear brake lever, check that
the brake hoses and brake pipes are con-
nected correctly to the hydraulic unit as-
sembly.
10.If the operation of the hydraulic unit is normal,
delete all of the DTC.
ABS reaction-force confirmation

Securely support the vehicle so that there is
no danger of it falling over.
• For the ABS reaction-force confirmation, use
the diagnosis of function of the YDT. For more
information, refer to the operation manual of
the YDT.
• Before performing the ABS reaction-force con-
firmation, make sure that no malfunctions have
been detected in the ABS ECU and that the
wheels are not rotating.
1. Place the vehicle on a centerstand.
2. Push the OFF/LOCK switch.
3. Remove:
• Battery cover
Refer to “GENERAL CHASSIS (1)” on
page 4-1.
4. Check:
• Battery voltage
Lower than 12.8 V Charge or replace the
battery.
If the battery voltage is lower than 12.8 V, charge
the battery, and then perform ABS reaction-
force confirmation.
5. Removing the protective cap, and then con-
nect the YDT to the YDT coupler.
Refer to “YDT” on page 9-3.
• Yamaha diagnostic tool (A/I) (90890-03264) in-
cludes YDT sub harness (6P) (90890-03266).
• If you already have Yamaha diagnostic tool (A/
I) (90890-03262), YDT sub harness (6P)
(90890-03266) is separately required.
6. Start the YDT and display the diagnosis of
function screen.
7. Select code No. 1, “ABS reaction-force con-
firmation”.
