•MEPDatabaseActions‐ThefollowingareactionsthatcanbeperformedonRMEPs
intheMEPDatabase:
–Lock‐Ifintheauto‐discoverystate,DiscoveredRMEPscantransitiontooperateas
Staticbybeinglocked.
–Clear
‐IfaDiscoveredpeerfails,itcanbemanuallyremovedorcleared.Ifa
Discoveredpeerhasnotfailed,itcanstillbeclearedbutitwillbere‐discoveredon
thenextreceivedCCMfromthatRMEP.
•MEPDatabaseRuleT ransitions‐Whenchanging theMArulefromanauto‐
discovery
statetoanauto‐learningstate,allDiscoveredentriesaremadeStatic.
Whentransitioningfromanauto‐discoverystatetoconfigured‐onlystate,all
Discoveredentriesareremoved.
ToconfiguretheremoteMEPdatabaselearningrule,typeoneofthefollowing
commands:

mep-database configured-only,andpressENTERtosettheruleto
configured‐onlylearning.Thisisthedefault

ENTERtocreateaRMEPthatoperatesasaStaticentryintheMEP‐database.
Thisstepcanberepeatedtoaddmorethanoneremote‐MEPtotheassociation.

component [1|2] vlan [<1-4094>|none]
toassociateaVLANwiththe m aintenanceassociation:
ForComponent1DownandUpMEPs,usetheVLANIDoftheEVCwithwhichtheMA
isoperatingon.
ForComponent2DownandUpMEPs,useacustomerVLANIDthatisbeingmappedto
anEVCbyanEVC‐
map.
Ifnoneisspecified,untaggedCFMmessageswillbesent.
AComponentneedstobecreatedintheMaintenanceAssociationtodefinetherealmof
theMAandtheVLANoftheMA.AMAcanoperateeitheronc‐tagors‐tag.
•AComponentID of1indicates
theMaintenanceAssociationoperatesonthes‐tag
•AComponentID of2indicatestheMaintenanceAssociationoperatesonthec‐tag
AMDandMAcanbeterminatedonanNCTEinvariouswaysdependingonthe
architectureoftheCFMdeploymentacrossthenetwork.
