Length measuring devices with EnDat

When having length measuring devices with EnDat® 2.2 to control the motor the param-
eters Z107.19– Pole pair number and Z107.67– Pole pitch must be parameterized. The
number of increments do not have to be calculated and have no meaning. Also, refer to
Z137.2–.
When having length measuring devices with EnDat ® 2.2 to control the position a stan-
dardization is not carried out. The line number does not have to be calculated and has no
meaning. The lower 16 bit of the digital position are mapped in the upper 16 bit of the pa
-
rameter Z106.5– Encoder angle actual value. The upper 16 bit are mapped in the lower
16 bit of the parameter Z106.6– Encoder revolutions actual value. This way the complete
position can be read via the parameter Z18.57–. 32 bit at the maximum are evaluated.
3.4.6.2 Encoder monitoring
Monitoring of signal amplitude Sin² + Cos²
The controller evaluates the present total amplitude from the sine and cosine traces of the
encoder (Am in
ZFig. 48–). At error free operation the sum of the quadrants of the sine
and cosine measuring values is nearly constant. However the signal level is not always
constant, in particular there is a dependence of the angle speed and consequently from
the speed.
The levels for the monitoring of the sin² +cos² value can be set in the parameter Z14.1–
and Z14.2–.
NOTE!
When having length measuring devices to control the motor it must be ensured that
the zero point of the encoder is not within the traveling range! The zero point is at
Z106.5– Encoder angle actual value < 0 and Z106.6– Encoder revolutions actual
value < 0. If. If so, please contact the center application department.
