7.6.3 Cold Start Procedures
The Power Supply internal memory stores the system default settings and the parameters that you set. It
also provides temporary storage to support the Power Supply internal functions. A cold start clears the Weld
Setup Menu values and restores them to original factory defaults. It is not necessary to perform a cold start
during normal operation and servicing, but you might find a cold start helpful when:
• You suspect the system is not operating properly.
• You want to make a new setup.
Some system memory locations and parameters, such as internal power supply history and serial number
information, printer type and printer setup, will not be cleared by these Cold Start procedures.
Using the Cold Start procedures will erase your Setup parameters. Be sure you have a record
of your setup if you want to retain it. Your settings can be printed if you use the optional printer
or you can save them to a preset.
